How To Program My Philips Remote

They range from standard long black to sleek ones; there are also the latest versions of touch screen remotes which program by themselves. All the models which have to be programmed have the same basic and easy steps. If a person wants to program a remote, he/she is supposed to check how many devices his/her remote is capable of controlling. After checking the capacity of the remote any one of the devices which has to be programmed can be considered. Philips universal remote control has a set of codes for each remote control of different models. Each model has a unique code. Anyone of the devices that has to be programmed is selected. After the selection all the devices must be switched off and then the selected device alone is switched on manually. After switching it on, the SETUP button in the remote is pressed and held down till the indicator light has stopped to flash and remains solid. Then the SETUP button is released. The MODE button is pressed for the type of the device such as DVD or TV which has to be programmed. After the MODE button is released the light gets illuminated. The code for the respective device is typed in the Philips universal remote control. The code is usually a four digit one. When any other button such as the volume control or the channel up button is pressed, and if the device responds to the buttons then it has been programmed successfully. If the buttons do not respond after entering the code, then the whole process has to be re-done after switching off the device. The process is repeatedly done until the device responds to the buttons. If the code for the device is not listed in the code list then Philips universal remote control has a built in code search option. To make use of the code search option repeat the above process but instead of the SETUP button press the CODE SEARCH button. The channel button or the volume button is pressed to check whether the device is responding or no. This process may have to be repeated 300 times as every time the button is pressed the code search tries a new different code. When the button responds the MUTE button is pressed and the code is stored for the respective device. Thus, Philips remote can be programmed.
